Attendees are responsible for arranging their own lodging. Below are some available lodging options.
Contracted Hotel
The department contracted with the Hotel Deca for a room block with discounted rates that expired on May 12. Several workshop participants are staying at this hotel. Attendees are welcome to still book a room at the prevailing rates, subject to room availability. Hotel Deca is approximately 0.9 mile walk through campus to the meeting location.
Other Hotel Discounts
The university has a longstanding business rate arrangement with two other local hotels:
- University Inn (0.8 miles from the meeting)
- Watertown Hotel (0.9 miles from the meeting)
Other Local Hotels
Several options can be browsed at yelp.com.
The College Inn is the closest location (0.5 mile walk) to the meeting site, and relatively inexpensive compared to other nearby hotels. However, there is no parking, and the accommodations are hostel-like (private rooms with shared bathroom) rather than typical hotel (Yelp.com review Here)
The Silver Cloud Inn is often used by EE department guests; the hotel is a 1 mile (20 minute) walk from the meeting site and close to restaurants and shopping, and offers a shuttle to campus (Yelp.com review Here)

Seattle weather is generally mild, with temperatures averaging 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat waves do occur periodically, and campus buildings are not air-conditioned. Be prepared for cooler evenings and occasional rain showers. For those who prefer to bring their own linen and towels, choosing a color other than white or beige helps housekeeping to identify personal items. The UW is a pedestrian campus; bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk.
